Year 3 evacuation experience

Year 3 visit to Didcot Railway Centre

Classes 8 and 9 spent the day experiencing what it was like to be evacuated during World War 2 and learning more about what it was like to live during the war.

We all made it to safety in the Anderson Shelter while we were under attack from German planes and bombs.

To the train
Our school decided we were in too much danger in Didcot so Ladygrove School were evacuated.

On the evacuation train, we had to do an emergency stop and shelter on the floor due to an 'unexploded bomb' next to the track.

We all waited patiently while we were billeted to our new homes.
