Quiz & Curry Night - 23rd February 2018
Q: Why did laughter echo across the Ladygrove last Friday?
A: 65 parents and staff gathered in the School Hall for the
annual PALS (Parents of Ladygrove Park) Quiz Night. Hosted by the one and only
‘Quiz Master Markham’, the 10 teams faced 7 rounds of questions covering
General Knowledge, Sports and Games, Music, TV Theme Tunes, Geography,
Catchphrases and 50/50.
Q: But what was that smell?!
A: A delicious curry was consumed by all on the night, including
poppadoms/dips (donated by Little India), naan (donated by Sun Koshi) and
vegetable samosas (donated by Kolkata). The chicken curry and rice was kindly
cooked by Paul Garraway and the vegetable curry was cooked and donated by Beth
Marsh.
Q: So, who won?
A: ‘The Porges’ came out on top, and won £50, with 67.5 points.
Q: And, who won the much sought-after Wooden Spoons?
A: Fittingly named, that would be ‘And in Last Place’ with 54
points.
Q: What about funds raised for the school?
A: An amazing £650 was raised on the night, including raffle
ticket sales; 113 tickets were sold, 11 winners.
Q: And thanks goes to?
A: This hugely successful event was the perfect mix of social
and fund-raising, it couldn’t have happened without the amazing support of
local businesses, parents and staffs of Ladygrove Park.
