Class 13 Forest School Art

This week's activities were inspired by Andy Goldsworthy. We were amazed by the thoughtful interpretations created through the afternoon, the children's responses to their art, and the collaboration shown to complete their designs involving the entire class.

Keira, Nidhi and Olivia started with the concept of a rainbow - then went on to make a representation of a flower to include seeds to represent the flower life cycle as we've been looking at in  science

Rachael took her inspiration from the 'starburst' style artworks.

Metehan, Callum and Harry did an excellent job of 'lighting up' the tree which was one of the aspects of Goldsworthy's work that impressed the class the most.
Isabelle made an 'artistic birds best'

Callum also made a nature sculpture.

Ffion concentrated on making her design as symmetrical as possible, using two of each of her materials. She also contrasted on raising parts to create a 3d effect.

Scarlett tried a hanging sculpture using 'helicopters'

Kyle created this amazing design - concentrating on the contrast of greens that could be created from using the same materials (both sides of the leaves). His team collaborated fantastically by supplying the material.

Ola represented the dark side of the world - destruction, death, rubbish and human damage as contrasted with the lush greens of nature.

Inspired by the other science design, Alice and Charlotte used separate materials to show the pollen, ovary, petals and stem of a plant - even 'distributing' the pollen by blowing it away.
