Today all of the children in our EYFS setting experienced a 'Beach Afternoon'. As nearly half the children had little to no experience of the beach, the adults were keen to give them a great afternoon. We had a sandcastle competition, which will be judged later in the week by Mr Markham. Children used resources to make creative castles with their friends.
An ice cream shop was open with real money for the children to purchase an item to cool down. Vanilla seemed to be quite popular!
We 'paddled' in the sea! Mr Markham came and joined us for a paddle.
'Beach' volleyball was taking place, developing our gross motor skills to keep the ball in the air.
The used the tent for shade and the 'barbeque' on for those who were hungry!
And of course you can't go to the beach without having your photograph taken!
