We were delighted that Simon Mole (World Book Day Ambassador) could return this year to deliver his excellent poetry workshops to Years 3,4 and 5. As Year 4 had met him last year, they were particularly excited to know what happened to the characters they already knew in Simon's new book, 'I love my cat'. Simon also found it really useful and fun that he was working with children that already knew him either from last year, or from work we had previously done in class. As ever, Simon's delivery engaged all the children in creating their own creative poems, with amazing results. We were all very proud of our poems - and we will publish a few in the newsletter.
"Simon helped me make my poem less informal, which really made it more enjoyable to read." Zack
"He was really funny and it was fun to write our own poems." Alessia and Poppie
"I liked that he shared his own poem about the boy and Pacman This helped me get ideas for my own work." Eva and Savanna
