Deadly Dragons at Forest School

Today at Forest School, Class 6 created these amazing ruby-red dragons. They used leaf printing to create a scaly effect on the dragons' faces and even added extra leaves for teeth and ears. They looked terrifying! The children in Class 6 also thought of lots of exciting vocabulary they could use to describe the dragon from the story 'Room on the Broom'- terrifying, prickly, aggressive, violent, petrifying, spiteful, haunting, cruel and evil (along with many others).

Magical Wands At Forest School

At Forest School today, Class 6 enjoyed creating magical wands, which were inspired by the book 'Room on the Broom'. The children thoroughly enjoyed searching through our Forest School area for the perfect stick to use and decorated their wand beautifully once we were back in the classroom using colourful string.

In English, Year 2 has been reading the story 'Room on the Broom' written by Julia Donaldson. The children have been thinking carefully about how they would describe the witch from the story and at Forest School, the children used natural resources to create the witch.

Forest School in FS

What a lovely day after a stormy night!
Spiders had a great time at Forest School today, noticing what was in the area. They looked at trees and the different types of bark, and the buds coming; the protection that we put around some of the young trees; bark that had peeled off and that might be used by animals. The children had magnifying glasses and binoculars to look around. Some used the charcoal to paint their faces again!
Thank you to our helpers today!
