20th October
Year 6 took their Narnia narratives to buddy read with the children in Year 3.
Rina told Mrs Fernandez, "I had lots of fun and the children were very engaged with my story."
Ted also commented, "The children were very well behaved and listened well to our stories!"
Theo (from Class 8) reported that the buddy reading was amazing and he enjoyed it very much.

Brilliant Book Corners
Friday 6th September
Year 3 topic - decorating our book corner!
We painted Hansel and Gretel's house. We mixed the colours to make a new colour. It was really fun. I helped everybody with their painting - I was doing the sky with a friend. We painted a Rapunzel tower as well. Written by Paige.
Class 8 did a lot of art! We all went into groups. I painted Rapunzel's hair with a friend, using a sponge. After that, I painted the trees with a new group. Written by Kamdilichi.
Hi, my name is Kidest. This year we have been decorating our story corner. I worked with my friend to do Rapunzel's hair. I also did a little work on Hansel and Gretel's house, and I helped my friend do the beanstalk. Just in time, I made tree paper chains before we had to tidy up.
We hope you will be able to come and see our brilliant book corner very soon.

Making the most of the weather...
Class 14 have been making the most of the beautiful (if a little windy) weather this week and reading 'A Strange Day in July' outside as part of their English unit on suspense writing. Why not ask a member of Year 6 about the spooky story they have been learning about?

Myths...
In Year 5 we are learning about the Ancient Greeks.
Today we have enjoyed sitting outside exploring some of the Greek myths. Although some of the Greek names have been like tongue twisters!
We are looking forward to acting out a chosen myth later this week.

Year 5 Book Awards
Last Friday ten of our Year 5s visited Wallingford Bookshop to select a book to read over the Summer. This was an award to recognise a variety of achievements from consistent enthusiasm to learning to positive behaviour changes. The children met with a member of staff from the bookshop for a quick consultation and then choose a book from a selection specifically handpicked for them. Afterwards we treated them to a cake! Well done Adam, Amelia, Daniel, Ellie, Evie, George, Kiera, Keira, Leo and Mollie.
