Year 5 had a fantastic day out on Wednesday visiting The Living Rainforest. We have been learning lots in class about different animals and plants that live in the rainforest, and how they have adapted to survive there. It was wonderful to bring our learning to life by being able to see these creatures in a rainforest-like environment with our very eyes!
Highlights of the day included sketching beautiful butterflies, staring at the sleeping sloth above us and watching the stingray show off her unique patterns through the glass! Thank you to all that came along with us for making the day such a success.

The day we went to Hill End
Class 8 travelled
back 2,000 years on Wednesday to become Britons (Celts) and Romans. We looked
at artefacts including a bum sponge, real roman coins and a gladius
short-sword.
Next, the Celts went
to their village and explored Boudicca’s (Tea’s) round house. The Roman General
(Charlie) commanded the Romans to set up a temporary camp, from where the
scouts found the Celt village. The Romans
went on a tax raid for wheat, gold and weapons!
The Celts fought
back with weapons from another tribe and challenged the Romans.
In the final battle,
both the Romans and Celts fought bravely to protect Boudicca and the General.
It was a close shave, but in the decider battle the Romans were victorious!

Year 6 Visit to Oxford Natural History Museum
Last Friday, Year 6 visited the Oxford University Museum of Natural History to learn more about their Science topic of Evolution and Inheritance. Everyone had a great time getting hands-on with lots of incredible artefacts and learning about how we are all in fact (a little bit) related to bananas!

Year 4 Trip to Sulgrave Manor
Year 4 had a fantastic time at Sulgrave Manor on Wednesday. We all dressed up as Tudor children and learned about many different aspects of Tudor life. We played some Tudor games, many of which are recognisable today, like cup and ball and Three Men's Morris, which is basically noughts and crosses! Then we re-enacted the turbulent life of Henry VIII and his many unfortunate wives and off-spring. We finished the day off by having a tour around Sulgrave Manor, where we visited the bed chamber, board room and kitchen. Did you know that they used to swaddle babies onto a board and hang them on the wall to protect them from being eaten by rats?
