Yesterday and last Thursday, year 6 children had the chance to go down to the woods and do some shelter building. They worked together in teams, designing their shelters, collecting wood and other materials, using saws and loppers and building the real thing. They had a great time!
This is an approach to outdoor learning called Forest Schools: parents of our foundation and year 1 children will be very familiar with it.
The trips were led by Sarah Lawful who has trained as a Forest School leader. She will be leading trips with the foundation stage children this term.
