On Thursday 22nd May a group of children form Years 5 & 6 spent the day at St Birinus School along with pupils form several other primary schools in Didcot. The event was the first ever International Sports Day and had been organised by the MFL & PE department at St Birinus.
During the morning, the children "visited" a number of countries including; Sri Lanka, Greece, Australia, New Zealand, West Indies and Spain. At each location they were given some information about the country and then they completed some fantastic Art & Craft activities. When quized the children showed that they had learned many new facts about these countries.
In the afternoon the children competed in one of 4 events: Tag Rugby, Cricket, Football and Athletics. There were some amazing indiviual and team performances and we cam joint second overall - just missing out to All Saints by 1 point! The children competed strongly and showed excellent team skills - we won two of the Fair Play awards which was fantastic. Well done to all those children involved!
