All week in school, like many other schools across Britain, we have been participating in Anti-Bullying week. The children have been discussing this very important issue in class and also in daily assemblies. They were reminded that a bully is someone who hurts you either physically or with words again and again, rather than someone you have just fallen out with in the playground. One area of bullying we discussed was Cyber-Bullying which is bullying that takes place either over the internet, via mobile phones or other technology. In today's world this is becoming more common. (Click on the title above for links to a great website for the older children to look at - if you are worried about them using the internet)
Today the children all came dressed in blue which is the colour of anti-bullying week. In a special assembly, the children showed all the positive work thay had done to stamp out bullying, including posters, kind emails and class codes of conduct. These will stay on display in school. We are very lucky at Ladygrove to have very few incidents of bullying and the children have all been reminded what to do if they feel that it is a problem for them.
