Strictly Come Eurovision

It has been a whirwind end of year in Year 6! Last week the children entered our very own Eurovision Song Contest. They re-wrote the lyrics to some well known "cheesy" songs like Mamma Mia, It's raining men and Barbie Girl. The lyrics were changed to be about different European countries to show off what they have learnt in our topic this term. They also dressed up in some unbelievable costumes and performed outrageous dances!

Today some of the year 6's took part in our own version of Strictly Come Dancing. Eleven acts took part with a real mix of dance styles from Irish, to Hip Hop to the Waltz. Our three judges; "Bruno" Hewerdine, "Len" Richards Turner and "Aleisha" Bolton were thoroughly impressed with all the acts, in fact "Bruno" was keen to learn some of the moves. The crowd were amazing and really enjoyed themselves.

It was a very close run thing and we ended up with a dance off between The Waltz and The Street Dancers who were eventually chosen as winners by audience vote.

Well done to all those who took part.
