Year 1 children were so inspired by Year 3's Roman Museum (which they set up in their classrooms to show off their Roman topic homework pieces), that they decided they wanted to create a Year 1 Museum to show off their work! Impressively, they planned it from scratch and made decisions about the layout of the museum, the 'artefacts' that should be exhibited, the opening hours, the admissions process and the roles required to run a museum. What super child-initiated learning! Mr. Burrows and Mrs. Li-Koo were formally invited to attend the opening and were fascinated; the Ashmolean in Oxford doesn't even compare!
