Oxfordshire Youth Games – High 5 Team are Victorious!

The team of 8 met in Oxford for the exciting final tournament of the season. Only nine teams made it through to the games from the whole of Oxfordshire – Ladygrove was one of them. The team faced a tough time, playing 8 games in the extremely oppressive heat. The tournament statistics were, as ever, impressive.
            Forty seven goals to us.
            Five goals against us.
Matthew overcame his recent lean patch at club to bag 14 goals – top scorer!
Dan and JT scored 9 and 8 respectively.
            All of the squad scored.
Highest jump in defence – shared between Mirren and JT.
Most difficult game – Scared Heart, who were unbeaten until they met us (score 4-2).
Eight fantastic games – all won by this unbeaten squad.
            One winner – Ladygrove Park!!
It was a magnificent effort from everyone – JT, Matthew, Dan, Jordan, Mirren, Katie, Becky and Darcey. The team was, as always, an absolute pleasure to be with. Thank you to all the children and all the parents and families who shared such a wonderful day with us . There will be some very big shoes left to fill when you leave!
A special thank you from us all to Mrs Manthorpe for being such a dedicated coach throughout the year; I've heard that there might be an England team looking for a new coach - we think we know the perfect candidate!
