County High 5 Finals

All the high 5 team were excited about today's event, and rightly so. Our first match was Eynsham. Sophie put us into an early lead, which Jack consolidated. The score ended 3-0. St Francis were our next game – fantastic teamwork was turned into great goals from Sam and then Emily during the second half (6-0). Dr Radcliffe, our next opponents, weren't a match for the teamwork and goalscoring ability of Jack, Sophie and Sam. Our final league game was against Millbrook – they were a very good team and despite goals from Rosie and and Emily (5-3). We had earned our place in the semi-final, and were pitched against Madley Brook. At the end of the first half we were matched at 1-1 thanks to Hannah's goal. However, during the second half they scored a further three goals – we managed one from Sam, so unfortunately we didn't make it into the final. As always there were superb displays of teamwork, and magnificent performances from all players. To reach the county finals is an amazing achievement, to get to the semi-final is something of which every player may be justifiably proud. The children's behaviour on court was exemplary. Thank you again to the mums, dads and grand-parents who supported us and helped with transport.
