Today I took a small group of Year 5 children to visit Harwell RAL as part of the Didcot Enthuse Science Partnership and of course National Science Week.
They took part in a number of workshops which included building a structure (out of spaghetti and marshmallows!!) that was put through similar endurance tests to the various gadgets that are sent into space. They also made a control pad to move a robot, learnt about how to avoid contamination when cleaning and extended their learning on our solar system. The children were a real credit to the school and really impressed me with their existing knowledge.
