Willow term win and Oak Sports' Day triumph fails to halt Beech overall victory!
This morning's Year 4,5 and 6 Sports' day was the final chance for children to win points for their houses this year. But Oak's triumph in the races didn't prevent Beech from winning the prize for the overall year award.
The sun shone on the children as they competed in running, skipping and ball races. Watched by proud parents and grandparents, all the children did their best with 1st, 2nd and 3rd places being awarded house points. At the end of the morning, it was Oak that won the most points and with it, 1,000 points for their house.
Sports' Day was followed up by a whole school assembly outside on the field where the house winners were announced with the help of Jon Collins, a Year 7 pupil from St Birinus.
Willow won the award for the week and the term but it was Beech that won the overall award for the year.
All Beech children will have a party on the field this afternoon as a reward.
