Today in year 3 we had a fantastic, but hard working afternoon making our very own Anderson Shelter as part of our WWII topic. The children worked really hard to make the shelter and then we chose a lookout to spot enemy planes. When they were spotted the air raid siren was sounded and the children very sensibly lined up and made their way into the shelter to take cover. In the shelter we told jokes and sang songs to cheer ourselves up. Fortunately the planes did not drop any bombs and we were able to exit the shelter safely.
