The weather did its thing by sending away the dark clouds and bringing in sunshine. Lots of parents and children came along to enjoy the inside stalls and demonstrations and the outside games.
Mr Burrows was presented with a wonderful cake make by Linda Cox, an inscribed watering can and a cheque towards a gift that will be presented before the end of term.
Then as a special surprise, he and some brave staff members, were gunged!
Mr Burrows says: "Many, many thanks to Donna and Mary and all of the PALS volunteers for making the fête such a success - especially with the threat of heavy rain. I really enjoyed walking round talking to parents and children, including ex-pupils who had stopped by to say 'goodbye'. Many thanks for the presentation - I haven't started on the cake yet! It made it a very special day. And I've just about washed the last lentil out of my ears."
