Who'd have thought that rocks could be so interesting!
Today year 3 went to the Natural History Museum in Oxford and attended a workshop all about different rocks. They found out that despite the fact that rocks can look very different, there are only 3 main types: Igneous, Sedimentary and Metamorphic.
They found out that rocks contain minerals and that they are used for all kinds of important things. They also had a good look around the exhibits and were able to see rocks and fossils that were millions of years old.
The children were really well behaved and asked very interesting questions throughout.
