Maths Day in FS

We had a Maths Day of our own today, but joined the rest of the school for whole-school break this morning and for a picnic lunch on the field.
We had three main focused activities, amongst further adult-initiated activities that the children all had a chance to take part in; making caterpillars from plasticine (talking about patterns, length and weight), timing ourselves or racing the clock to fill different -sized containers with different resources, and a treasure hunt where we had to use coordinates to find the clues. We had a busy but fun day. We went to assembly to talk about what we had been up to. The children were very tired by the end of it all!
