Today the whole of Year 5 visited St Birinus school to take part in their Moon Mission event. This followed on from two days of hard work in school constructing some fantastic moon buggies with the help of Mr Poynter and Mrs Manthorpe.
Everyone has the chance to experience what design and technology is like at secondary school, completing including sewing Moon bunting, making and decorating space biscuits and (carefully!!!) sawing and sanding a space themed wooden key ring.
The highlight of the day was definitely racing the Moon Buggies which everyone had put so much time, effort and care into constructing. All the hard work certainly paid off though as we beat Cholsey, Chilton, Willowcroft and All Saints to have the fastest Moon Buggy on a slope and the fastest Moon Buggy over the 'moon' terrain.
Not only did a Ladygrove team come first in 2 out of 3 races but one of our teams also won best overall design.
To top it all off, Ladygrove were awarded best overall moon buggy (usually this is just awarded to one group rather than a whole school) in recognition of our outstanding work!
Well done Team Ladygrove! We are all so proud of your hard work and fantastic attitude!
Miss Zebrowski & Mrs Nash
