The day we went to Hill End

Class 8 travelled back 2,000 years on Wednesday to become Britons (Celts) and Romans. We looked at artefacts including a bum sponge, real roman coins and a gladius short-sword.

Next, the Celts went to their village and explored Boudicca’s (Tea’s) round house. The Roman General (Charlie) commanded the Romans to set up a temporary camp, from where the scouts found the Celt village.  The Romans went on a tax raid for wheat, gold and weapons!

The Celts fought back with weapons from another tribe and challenged the Romans.

In the final battle, both the Romans and Celts fought bravely to protect Boudicca and the General. It was a close shave, but in the decider battle the Romans were victorious!
