The football team had all the effort and no reward in the Gerring Cup tournament on Tuesday. Victories against Berinsfield and Hagbourne and draws against Manor and Stephen Freeman took them through to a semi-final against Harwell. Things looked comfortable with a 2-0 scoreline at half time but the village school brought the scores back to level by full time. However, Ladygrove squeezed in a further goal to get a place in the final against Stephen Freeman. A tight match looked as if it was heading for penalties until Stephen Freeman scored with minutes to go.
Well done to all of the squad for some good football; a pity they weren't quite good enough in the end.
