The children were set the task of building a moon buggy -
capable of speed, covering rough moon terrain, and carrying and depositing a
piece of moon-rock. Carefully following
a precise set of instructions, the buggies were created -
using saws, hot glue guns and drills! Mission Control is pleased to report that
all buggies were completed successfully and all meet the requirements of the
task. Using their creative juices, the children then designed and made a shell
for their vehicles, which needed to be hinged or removable, so that the
buggies' controls could be accessed. Finally the children raced their vehicles
to decide which groups would compete at St Birinus School against other
schools.
