Aspirations Day - 3rd March 2015

Year 5 and 6 children spent a day this week meeting adults from different walks of life. The aim of the day was to open children's eyes to future opportunities and pathways, and to give them the chance to consider what skills, qualifications and talents they might need to get there.

We were very fortunate to have a range of guest speakers who each gave presentations and answered questions about their job and what their career path had been.

The school is very grateful to the following visitors who shared their experiences:  Laura Powley (dance teacher), Dr David Keeling (nuclear fusion research physicist), James Walthall (barrister), Natasha Goswell (heart nurse), Chrissy Clark (health visitor), Helen Vincent (freshwater ecologist), Julie Hiddleston (deputy headteacher), Miranda Laurence (arts development office, Cornerstone), Charlie Davies (artist), Mike Pollard (head of collaborative working, Network Rail), Matt Croucher (research & development supervisor, Williams F1 and Rebecca Bailey (vet).
