Ladygrove win The Manor School High 5 Tournament!

Huge Congratulations to the High Five team that played in the Manor Tournament on Saturday morning.

 

It was an early and very cold start to the day with us wondering if the tournament would go ahead when it started snowing !

The team were drawn in Group 1 with 6 league matches to play. They started strong with a 5-0 win against Blewbury School, which in a 6 minute match is a great score! There were some long breaks in between matches  but this gave them the chance to warm up inside and feast on chips, bacon rolls & hot chocolate !

Ladygrove became the team to beat after winning all of their group games (2-1 against Chiltern, 2-1 against Manor, 1-0 against All Saints, 5-1 against Fir Tree and 7-0 against Long Wittenham) and went into the semi-final against South Moreton where they won the game 3-1 and were in the Final !

Nerves were put aside (even with Mr Markham and lots of parents watching!)  and the team gave Chiltern a really good game winning 5-0 ! Meaning that they were not only champions but also unbeaten in every game! With such strong competition this really is a great achievement.

Again those that played all brilliantly represented the school. Their team work and support for each other was outstanding.

Well done to Callum Henderson, Sam Blake, James Pearson, Laura Millar, Katie Woods, Charlotte Pink and Isabelle G-Bamford, you should all be very proud of yourselves.
