Wallingford High 5 Tournament

This tournament was an important event for us, as the two finalists would go on to represent South Oxfordshire in the Oxfordshire Youth Games. We travelled to Wallingford – courtesy of the team's supportive parents. We had six games in our league – we beat Valley Road 6-0, Sonning Common 3-0, Benson 2-0, Wheatley 5-0, Goring 4-0 and Fir Tree 2-0. This meant we came top of our league. We faced Sacred Heart in the final – about whom we knew nothing. Those nail-biting 6 six minutes felt like 60! A final push from the players on court left the final score at 2-1, and we have another shield to go in the cabinet. WE get to go the Oxfordshire Youth Games – a huge event held annually in Oxford, with some 2000 competitors in various sports!

Dan and Jordan scored a stunning total of 6 goals each, Matthew bagged 5 and Katie netted 4, and James, Darcey and Becky all scored. The superb seven stunned us all with their incredible, awesome performances. Every single member of this team can be relied upon to always do their best.

Thanks again go to the parents for supporting us, also thanks to Thomas and Ollie and their mum for coming to support their friends.
