Hill End Adventures!

Year 4 settled back into school this week after a very exciting time at Hill End last week!  Class 11 stayed the latter part of the week after having a lovely picnic lunch with Class 10 who told them lots of funny stories about what to expect.  All the children had a blast: getting stuck in a boggy marsh and having to be rescued (repeatedly because they loved it so much!) by the adults; building shelters in the woods using only natural materials; pond-dipping for aquatic mini-beasts which they then identified using classification keys; sing-songing around a campfire whilst toasting marshmallows; sketching in the bluebell woods; going on a night-walk; gobbling up delicious dinners every evening.  The children were a credit to themselves, helping out with smaller chores, either when asked or voluntarily, and demonstrated impressive maturity, increasing independence, consideration for others and a wonderful team spirit.  A big Thank You to all the adults who accompanied the children, as well as the teachers who came and visited after school and did fun games and activities with the children!
