Day 2 at Kilvrough

Day 2 got off to an early start with lots of children up very early, eager to tidy their rooms and win the room inspection competition that is being held this week.

After a delicious breakfast, including sausage baps, the groups each went to meet their instructors and prepare for the day's activities. Once we had collected our equipment everyone set off for their activity which was either canoeing, rock climbing or caving. Everyone pushed themselves and achieved things they couldn't even have imagined - all of the staff are very proud of how our Year 6s have shown determination and resilience.

After returning to the centre and showering (even the boys!!) everyone was able to have some free time and some people were even able to play Dobble with Mrs Owen.

For our evening meal we were treated to some delicious wraps and potato wedges followed by a generous portion of cake. Having been well fed, we set off on a night walk across the coast nearby to visit the ruins of Pennard Castle. When we arrived, our instructor Alex asked everyone to turn their torches off and as our eyes adjusted to the dark we were able to make out the sea and the meandering river below the cliff.

Having been suitably worn out by the walk to and from the cliffs, everyone was able to come back and get a good night's sleep to prepare for the adventures of Day 3!
